Mikiko was born and educated in Japan. While in Japan, Mikiko worked and volunteered for the education, government and exporting companies. Mikiko experienced being an overseas student studying aboard in North America and New Zealand.
After gaining a second language in English, Mikiko obtained employment in the education industry in Canada. Mikiko experienced working for many educational, profit and not-for-profit companies. For not-for-profit, Mikiko worked at JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization) and volunteers for the Japan-Canada Chamber Of Commerce. She has worked for International ESL and vocational school in Vancouver, such as MTI Community College. Mikiko also worked in the BC local Beer and Beverage Company as an executive assistant.
Mikiko’s love for BC has had her volunteering cleaning the coastlines of Vancouver Island, driving north along the oceans and mountains of the Rockies, interior deserts and camping in the serene hemlock and pine forests of British Columbia.
Mikiko’s philosophy is that the door to learning in the international education field is revolving, and to embrace diversity and upstanding of cultures allows for opportunities to learn English in Canada but other languages around the world.
